Top-seeded teams excel in York-Adams girls' tennis doubles action

The top-seeded teams excelled on Tuesday during the first and second rounds of the York-Adams League Girls' Tennis Tournament.

All four seeds advanced in Class AA, while three of the top four moved on in AAA.

Advancing in AA were: Delone Catholic's top-seeded team of Alyssa Neudecker and Ellie Neudecker, Kennard-Dale's second-seeded team of Alyssa Miller and Clare Boone, York Catholic's third-seeded team Samantha Schwamb and Carolyn Thomas and York Suburban's fourth-seeded team of Samantha Clancy and Bailey Cross.

Advancing the AAA were: Central York's top-seeded team of Yvonne Peters-Washington and Jenn Elder, Dallastown's second-seeded team of Christie Friedrich and Angela Friedrich, Dallastown's third-seeded team of Chloe Berridge and Madi Reed and New Oxford's unseeded team of Dagney Markle and Brooklyn Moyer. Markle and Moyer upset South Western's fourth-seeded team of Madi Bortner and Regan Ford in the second round, 7-5, 6-1.

The semifinals and finals are set for Wednesday at South Western. In AAA, Washington and Elder face Markle and Moyer, while Berridge and Reed battle Friedrich and Friedrich in an all-Dallastown battle. The AA semifinals will pit the Neudeckers vs. Thomas and Schwamb, while Clancy and Cross face off against Miller and Boone.
