GIRLS' SOCCER: Northeastern wins in OT, Central York goalie injured

Sawyer Patrick's goal at the 3:19 mark of overtime lifted Northeastern to a 3-2 girls' soccer victory on the road Wednesday night over Central York.

Central goalie Olivia Johnson made a leaping attempt at a save on Patrick's shot. Johnson was injured on the play after her head hit the ground and she was taken off in an ambulance. No update on Johnson's condition was available at press time.

After a scoreless first half, Bre Sgrignoli put Central York ahead 1-0 before Brittany Arentz's first goal of the night knotted the score at 1-1.

With 5:45 remaining in regulation, Bri Hackos put the hosts back in front before Arentz struck again with 2:17 left to force overtime.

Northeastern improved to 5-2-1 in York-Adams Division I, while Central fell to 7-2-0. Dallastown, which tied Northeastern on Tuesday night, leads the division at 7-0-1.

OTHER GIRLS' SOCCER

South Western 4, West York 2: At Hanover, Taylor Gough and Taylor Geiman each scored two goals and added one assist to lead the Mustangs. For the Bulldogs, Alyssa Narber and Mckenzie Gerrik each scored one goal.
