GIRLS' TENNIS: Dallastown finishes off perfect York-Adams Division I season
The Dallastown Wildcats finished off a perfect York-Adams Division I girls' tennis season on Monday.
The Wildcats rolled past visiting West York to improve to 9-0 in the division.
The Wildcats received straight-set singles victories from Christie Friedrich, Chloe Berridge, Madi Reed and Morgan Kistler.
Since the turn of the century, Dallastown has won 12 of the last 16 Division I championships.
OTHER GIRLS' TENNIS
Delone Catholic 5, York Catholic 2: At Hanover, the Squirettes improved to 7-0 in York-Adams Division II action and clinched at least a share of the division crown. York Catholic fell to 3-3. Alyssa Neudecker and Ellie Neudecker won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and combined to win No. 1 doubles. Magra Hernandez won at No. 5 singles for the Irish, while Annie Javitt and Erin McBrairty won at No. 2 doubles.
Susquehannock 4, Northeastern 3: At Northeastern, the Warriors won the completion of a suspended match. Julianne Cassady and Molly Hogan defeated Leah Shaffer and Evonne Qiu, 6-2, 6-1, to seal the victory in doubles. Cassady and Hogan were also victorious in singles play.
Susquehannock 4, Dover 3: The Warriors triumphed in another completion of a suspended match. Jessica McDonald, Julianne Cassady and Molly Hogan won in singles, while Cassady and Hogan won at No. 2 doubles. Alex DiGiovanni won at No. 1 singles for Dover and teamed with Joanne Ezibe to win No. 1 doubles. Madisyn Weaver won No. 5 singles for the Eagles.
York Suburban 7, Littlestown 0: At Suburban, the Trojans made short work of their guests, clinching the victory by sweeping singles. Suburban also took both doubles matches. The tightest matches were at No. 1 singles, where Samantha Clancy defeated Grace Rutter, 6-1, 6-3; and at No. 4 singles, where Elizabeth Huh bested Emily Chilcoat, 6-4, 6-0.
Kennard-Dale 4, Bermudian Springs 3: At Fawn Grove, the Rams took home the victory thanks to strength at the top of their lineup, winning the No. 1 through No. 4 singles matches. Candace Boyle took a tight, 6-3, 7-6 (9) victory against Alejandra Ramirez at No. 4 singles to clinch the win.
Red Lion 7, Dover 0: At Red Lion, Kristina Snyder, Emily Zeidman, Alison Miller and Helen Zeidman won in both singles and doubles to power the Lions. Tori Austin also won in singles.
Cumberland Valley 5, Central York 0: At Cumberland Valley, Maizie Ober, Valerie Motter and Catherine Miller all won in singles for the Eagles, helping them sweep the Panthers.
