York College freshman goalkeeper Jillian Kozak has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Kozak went 1-1 in net for the Spartans this past week. 

Kozak started off the week by holding The College of New Jersey, ranked No. 10 in NCAA Division III, to one goal, tying her career high with seven saves in the road loss. She followed that with three saves in an upset win over Elizabethtown on Wednesday afternoon. 

Kozak finished the week with 10 saves and two goals allowed in 180 minutes of action.

For the season, Kozak has a 0.80 goals-against average and an .826 save percentage in 450 minutes of action. Kozak is 3-2 in five games in net for York.

OTHER YORK COLLEGE NOTES

York golf team takes second at Bridges: The York College men's golf squad picked its second runner-up finish of the year, finishing second at the McDaniel College Fall Invitational this past weekend at the Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown.

The Spartans finished 11 strokes behind host McDaniel, which finished at 593.

Junior Luke Fayocavitz led the way for York, tying for second individually. Fayocavitz shot a 76 on Saturday followed by an even-par 72 on Sunday. Fayocavitz finished two strokes back of tournament champion Kevin Keane from McDaniel who shot 72 on Saturday and 74 on Sunday to earn the win.

Spartans triumph in tennis: The York College women's tennis team continued its strong fall play, downing Elizabethtown 6-3 in nonconference action on Sunday afternoon in York. The Spartans remain perfect in the fall with a 4-0 record while the Blue Jays fall to 3-2. South Western grad Michaela Sentz won in singles and doubles for York.

The York College men's tennis team also continued its hot start to the fall campaign, blanking Elizabethtown 9-0 on Sunday. The Spartans improve to 4-0 while the Blue Jays fall to 2-3. South Western grad Ben Sentz won in singles and doubles, while New Oxford grad Josiah Forry won in doubles.
