Two York College athletes have earned weekly honors from the Capital Athletic Conference.

Sophomore defender Julea Truskey has been named the CAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week.

Truskey was also picked the Spartan Athlete of the Week.

Truskey helped York take Johns Hopkins, ranked No. 17 in NCAA Division III, to the brink of an upset to begin the week and then helped the Spartans capture a comeback win over Lynchburg. Against the nationally ranked Blue Jays, Truskey scored her first career collegiate goal in the 56th minute, giving the Spartans a 4-1 lead. The goal came on a penalty corner. The Spartans, however, eventually lost the game, 5-4.

Against Lynchburg, Truskey scored the game-tying goal on a pass from the top of the circle from Central York High School graduate Greta Plappert with 3 minutes, 29 seconds remaining in regulation. Just 1:32 later, Truskey tallied the game-winning score off a penatly corner.

For the week, Truskey scored three goals on three shots.

In addition, York sophomore goalie Billy Bridegum was picked the CAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Bridegum led the Spartans to a 1-0-1 week with a 0.49 goals-against average and .938 save percentage. He pitched a shutout in the Spartans' 4-0 win at Marywood on Wednesday, recording five saves in 74:20 of work to earn the win.

Saturday as he recorded a season-high-tying 10 saves against No. 19 Mary Washington. The Spartans picked up a 1-1 draw against the Eagles. He allowed one goal with 15 saves in 184:20 between the pipes.
