York College women's lacrosse team rolls into CAC playoffs on nine-match win streak
The York College women's lacrosse team finished their Capital Athletic Conference regular season with a dominating 15-5 triumph over Marymount at Kinsley Field.
York, ranked No. 5 nationally in NCAA Division III in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll, improved to 13-3 overall and finished 7-1 in the CAC. The Spartans have won nine straight. Marymount fell to 9-8 and 3-5.
York's stat leaders were: Caitlin Rankin (three goals, assist), Kayleigh Phillips (three goals) and Devin Hursey (goal, two assists).
The Spartans will enter the CAC playoffs as the No. 2 seed behind Salisbury, which finished 8-0 in the conference and is ranked No. 3 in D-III.
On Wednesday, May 2, York will play host to the Marymount-Mary Washington winner in the CAC semifinals. Marymount is the No. 6 seed and Mary Washington is the No. 3 seed.
