York College earns big road win in meeting of NCAA Division III women's lacrosse powers

In a meeting of NCAA Division III powers, the York College women's lacrosse team earned its third straight win on Friday, beating Mary Washington, 9-7, in a crucial Capital Athletic Conference battle.

The match was played in Fredericksburg, Virginia.   

York (7-3 overall, 2-1 CAC) came into the game ranked No. 9 in D-III, while Mary Washington (11-2, 4-1) was No. 5. 

Devin Hursey (three goals), Hayley McCormick (two goals), Baleigh Bradley (two assists), Melissa Meehling (goal, assist), Kayleigh Phillips (seven draw controls) and Charlotte Wright (13 saves) led York.

York now has three wins over nationally ranked squads (Franklin & Marshall, Trinity, and Mary Washington).
