York College outfielder Grant Oberholtzer’s torrid pace at the plate of late has earned him the school’s Spartan Athlete of the Week award.
During a four-game stretch last week, Oberholtzer posted a .619 batting average, scoring 10 runs and driving in eight runs, while slamming a double, a triple and a pair of home runs.
For the season, Oberholtzer leads the Spartans in batting average (.453), doubles (10), runs scored (28) and home runs (three), and is tied for the lead in stolen bases (two).
Lewis nabs second CAC award of season: For the second time this year, York sophomore Ginger Lewis is the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Lewis led the Spartans to a pair of wins in their lone doubleheader for the week. She first tossed a complete game in the opener against Franklin & Marshall, scattering two hits and striking out 13 batters.
She then threw three innings of relief work in the second game. Lewis allowed a run on one hit with one walk, while striking out five to earn the save.
In total, Lewis allowed two runs on three hits over 10 innings, striking out 18 and walking one while recording a win and a save.
For the season, Lewis is 6-2 with a 2.77 ERA.
