Susquehannock High School graduate Katie Wagner honored by Capital Athletic Conference
- York College's Katie Wagner is the CAC Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week.
- The Susquehannock High grad was also named the Spartan Athlete of the Week.
- In two games last week, Wagner averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.
York College senior guard Katie Wagner has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the league on Monday afternoon, Jan. 8.
Wagner shared the award with Marymount's Regan Lohr.
The Susquehannock High School graduate led the Spartans to a pair of Capital Athletic Conference road wins this past week.
In a come-from-behind victory at Salisbury, Wagner poured in a career-high 22 points while she also had five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Wagner was 9 for 14 from the floor and 4 for 4 from the free-throw line.
She followed that with 19 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in a Saturday afternoon win at Southern Virginia. Wagner was 7 for 10 from the floor and 5 for 7 from the free-throw line.
For the week, Wagner averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. She shot 66.7 percent from the floor and 81.8 percent from the free-throw line.
For the year, Wagner is averaging 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.2 steals per game. She is shooting 50.8 percent from the field and 74.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Wagner has helped the Spartans to a 9-4 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in the CAC.
Wagner was also named the Spartan Athlete of the Week for her efforts.
