A big week from Dalton Myers helped the unbeaten York College men’s basketball team to a pair of victories.

For his efforts, Myers was recognized as the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The senior forward started his successful stretch by pouring in a season-high 28 points and grabbing 12 rebounds when the Spartans (7-0) defeated Frostburg State at home. It was Myers’ third double-double this season. He followed that up with 14 points, six rebounds, a season-high four assists and a blocked shot during a road victory at Marymount.

Myers is averaging 17.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game this year while shooting 57.5 percent from the floor. He’s also knocked down 11 of his 24 3-point attempts. His standout week moved his career points total to 1,130, which is 18th all-time at York.

Stahl is Spartan Athlete of the Week: York College swimmer Keven Stahl continues to collect weekly awards, this time adding a Spartans Athlete of the Week honor to his credit.

The standout freshman helped the Spartans record a 138-124 road victory at Washington (Maryland) on Saturday.

Stahl was victorious in the 1,000 freestyle, 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle. His time of 9 minutes, 33.96 seconds in the 1,000 free was a new school and Casey Swim Center record. He also set pool records in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:55.16 and the 500 freestyle with a 4:40.44 swim. He was also a part of the triumphant 200 medley relay team.

In addition to his team-leading 13 individual wins this year, Stahl owns the best times in the CAC in the 200 free, 500 free, 1,000 free, 1,650 free and 400 individual medley. He also has the second-best time in the 200 butterfly behind York teammate Jesse Tate.

The Spartans (5-2 overall, 2-0 CAC) return to action on Jan. 13 when they take on Randolph-Macon.
