A pair of Red Lion High School graduates helped lift the York College field hockey team to a regular-season finale 3-1 win over Frostburg State on Thursday, Oct. 26.

Ali Posey and Paige Taylor, both products of Red Lion, each scored a goal in the Spartans' (12-5, 4-2 Capital Athletic Conference) conference win at Frostburg St. (5-14, 0-6 CAC).

Autumn Mallory had York's other goal in the contest.

Posey opened the game's scoring with a penalty stroke goal midway through the first half to make it 1-0 Spartans. They carried that lead into the halftime break and held it briefly into the second half before the Bobcats equalized.

However, York responded with a pair of goals within eight minutes of each other to regain the lead and then add insurance. Taylor scored the eventual game-winning goal with less than 10 minutes to play, while Mallory iced away the game with the team's third goal with less than two minutes to play.

The Spartans dominated the game and probably could've won by more, out-shooting Frostburg St., 31-3.

The win for York snapped a three-game skid as it gets set to take part in the CAC Tournament next week, starting on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Salisbury.
