The York College men's golf team finished first at the Gino Biondi Memorial Tournament over the weekend at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic.
The event was hosted by Marywood University.
York finished with a 624 total, two shots better than second-place Rosemont College.
The Spartans were fifth after the first day on Saturday, Oct. 14, with a 319 total, but improved to 305 on the final day, Sunday, Oct. 15, to capture the crown.
York's Tyler Newton finished second individually with a 7-over-par 149 total on rounds of 72 and 77. He finished two shots back of Swarthmore's Dan Altieri.
Morgan Uhlick tied for eighth for the Spartans at 156 (82 and 74), while Robert Cocorikis tied for 13th at 160 (82 and 78). Luke Fayocavitz tied for 16th for York at 161 (85 and 76).
Men's soccer team settles for draw: The York College men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw at Salisbury University in Capital Athletic Conference play on Sunday, Oct. 15.
Chris Hobbs scored the lone goal in the first half, lifting the Spartans ahead, but a late goal forced two scoreless periods of overtime.
Freshman Billy Bridegum made 11 saves in the tie, matching the program record for saves in a game.
York is now 5-7-2 overall and 3-2-1 in CAC action. Salisbury is 6-8-1 and 2-3-1.
Salisbury dominated statistically, earning a 14-3 edge in shots on goal and a 16-3 edge in corners.
Spartans fall in women's soccer: The York College women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Salisbury University 1-0 on Sunday in a CAC contest.
The game winner came with just four minutes remaining, ruining Jess Wieber's clean sheet. York fell to 2-9-2 overall and 1-4-1 in the CAC. Salisbury is 8-7-0 and 6-0.
Both teams had just three shots on goal, while each team had four corners.
