York College senior first baseman Carleigh Ruleman was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
In an eight-game span last week, Ruleman hit .435 with five home runs, three doubles and 12 RBIs, helping York go 5-3. Ruleman leads the CAC in home runs with eight and is tied for fifth in the league in RBIs with 23. For the season, Ruleman is hitting .342 with 22 runs scored, five doubles, a .740 slugging percentage and a .462 on-base percentage.
Two York College lacrosse players were also recognized by the CAC .
For the men’s team, junior goalie Landry Marshall earned CAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. Marshall allowed three goals and made seven saves in 53 minutes, 45 seconds of work during a victory over St. Mary’s. He followed that up by recording eight saves and allowing four goals in 47:10 in a win over Marymount. For the season, Marshall is 12-1 with a 6.40 goals-against average and a 59.5 save percentage with 116 saves. He also ranks second in the CAC in goals-against average and save percentage. He is tied for the league lead in goalie wins.
On the women’s side, freshman attack Meghan Fox was named the CAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. Fox led the Spartans to a trio of CAC wins. Fox began the stretch with three points on two goals and an assist in the Spartans' road win at Frostburg State. She followed that with four goals on six shots in the Spartans' win over St. Mary's. Fox closed out the week with three goals and one assist in the Spartans' 18-9 win over Marymount. For the week, Fox led the Spartans with 11 points on nine goals and two assists. For the season, Fox leads the team with 32 points on 23 goals and nine assists.
