Two York College athletes were honored by the Capital Athletic Conference this week.
Sophomore runner Jess Delviscio was named the CAC Women's Track Runner of the Week after smashing a Spartan school record Saturday in the 1,500-meter run at the Jim Taylor Invitational at Susquehanna University. Delviscio crossed the line in 4 minutes, 43.55 seconds, breaking the school record by more than eight seconds. Delviscio's time is the best in the CAC this season by more than 16 seconds. The time is also the 11th-best time in NCAA Division III so far this year. Delviscio finished second in the race behind a Division I runner in a field of more than 50 participants.
Freshman Morgan Uhlick was named the CAC Men's Golfer of the Week after he finished fourth at the McDaniel College Spring Invitational this past weekend at the Bridges Golf Club near Abbottstown. Uhlick started the tournament with a 4-over-par 76 on Saturday. He followed that with a 6-over-par 78 on Sunday, to finish with a two day total of 154. Uhlick finished four strokes out of first.
