After long break, York College women get lacrosse win
Playing for the first time since March 8 because of the recent winter weather, the York College women's lacrosse team showed a little rust early but then got rolling to defeat SUNY Oswego 12-5 in a non-conference contest Sunday in York.
The Spartans, who are ranked No. 9 in NCAA Division III, improved to 4-1. Oswego fell to 1-2.
York was led by Regan Cook (three goals), Meghan Fox (two goals, one assist), Hayley McCormick (two goals), Rachel Saks (two assists) and Nicole Clauter (five draw controls, two ground balls, three caused turnovers).
The Spartans return to action Wednesday when they head to Gettysburg to take on the nationally ranked Bullets in a battle of top-10 squads. The first draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
