Herman led the Spartans to a pair of Capital Athletic Conference victories this past week.

Herman began her week with a natural hat trick to propel the Spartans to a road win at Wesley. Herman scored her three goals in a 10-minute, 7-second surge to turn a 1-1 tie into a 4-1 Spartan lead.

In a win over Salisbury, Herman scored the game's only goal in the 60th minute. The goal was Herman's team-leading sixth of the year.

For the week, Herman notched four goals on six shots for eight points. Herman put five of her eight shots on target and she recorded both of the game-winning goals for the Spartans.

She was also named the CAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Herman has 13 points on six goals and one assist in 16 games in 2016.

York is 6-9-1 overall and 4-4 in the CAC, but has won three straight games.

York's Ockford is CAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of Week: York College junior defender Ryan Ockford has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Ockford led the Spartans to a pair of wins. York has now won three straight as they make a push for CAC tournament seeding.

In the win over Wesley, Ockford tallied the Spartans' first goal in the 21st minute. He also led a Spartan defense in the clean sheet. The Spartans limited the Wolverines to 11 total shots and just five shots on goal.

In Saturday's win over Salisbury, Ockford banged home a penalty kick in the 68th minute to give York the lead for good in the key win over the Sea Gulls. Ockford was a key part of a defense that limited the Sea Gulls to just five shots and one shot on goal.

Both of Ockford's goals were game-winners. York allowed just one goal in 180 minutes of play on a penalty kick.

Ockford now has 12 points on six goals including four penalty kick tallies for the Spartans.

Dallastown grad Luke Nelson earns honor: Penn State Altoona sophomore midfielder Luke Nelson, a Dallastown High School graduate, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer on Monday.

Nelson was key to the Lions' two AMCC wins last week, scoring a goal in each game.

In Penn State Altoona's 3-1 win over Franciscan University last Wednesday evening, he recorded a goal and an assist while putting two shots on goal and attempting three shots. In his team's 3-1 victory at D'Youville College on Saturday afternoon, the sophomore scored the game-winning goal while finishing with three shots on goal and seven total shots.

On the week, Nelson had two goals, one assist, five shots on goal and 10 total shots. Among all AMCC players this season, he ranks second in assists (eight), third in shots on goal (26), fifth in points (20) and total shots (44) and 10th in goals scored (six).
