York College sophomore forward Caitlin Rankin was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Rankin earned the award on the strength of a career-best day Saturday during York’s 4-1 victory at Southern Virginia. Rankin posted a career-high two goals and career- high four points.
For the season, Rankin has 10 points on four goals and two assists to lead the Spartans.
Johnson named Spartan Athlete of the Week: York College men's soccer senior goalie Charlie Johnson was selected as the Spartan Athlete of the Week after posting a pair of shutouts for the Spartans.
Johnson began his week by recording two saves during 110 minutes of scoreless action in a 0-0 draw against Frostburg State. He followed that effort with 95 minutes and 43 seconds of scoreless work in the Spartans' overtime win against Southern Virginia. Johnson made one save in earning the victory.
Johnson has three shutouts on the season along with a 1.24 goals-against average and a .717 save percentage.
