The York College field hockey team was victorious on Wednesday night, shutting out Stevenson, 2-0.

The Spartans (9-2) scored once in each half to down the Mustangs on the road. Lindsay Nye continued her strong season with her 14th goal of the season in the first half, giving York the 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the game. That score held until halftime. The Spartans increased that margin with a goal by Kenidy Kubitz midway through the second half.

York out-shot Stevenson, 12-11, while goalie Eve Hauptle made four saves for the shutout.

Men's soccer team falls late to PSU Harrisburg: The York College men's soccer team lost a 1-0 game to Penn State Harrisburg on a late goal.

The Harrisburg Lions (8-4, 2-1 CAC) scored the game's lone goal in the 84th minute to down the Spartans (4-6-1, 1-2 CAC).

York held a 10-4 advantage in shots, but couldn't get one past the PSU-Harrisburg keeper.

Women's soccer team can't hold lead: Despite holding a 1-0 lead in the first half, the York College women's soccer team allowed two straight goals, dropping a 2-1 result to PSU-Harrisburg.

Dover High School graduate Maxine Herman scored the only goal for the Spartans (3-7-1, 1-2 CAC) in the second minute. However, Harrisburg (5-7, 2-1 CAC) leveled the scored shortly before halftime to make the game 1-1 at the break. The Lions then scored the eventual game-winning goal just six minutes into the second half on a 40-yard strike.
