YORK COLLEGE: Women's volleyball team continues to roll

The York College women's volleyball team continued its impressive start to the 2016 season on Wednesday night, sweeping Dickinson College, 25-23, 25-14, 25-16.
The Spartans (13-1) finished with 33 kills in the match, while the Red Devils (7-6) had just 21.
Brooke Krebs, a New Oxford grad, led York with 10 kills, while Susquehannock grad Kerrie DeFelice had a team-high 17 digs. West York grad Alexis Harbold had 14 digs.
The Spartans have now won 10 straight. They've only lost seven total games on the year. It was York's 10th victory this season via sweep.
Spartans fall to Elizabethtown in field hockey: The York College field hockey team dropped a 2-1 result at Elizabethtown.
York fell to 5-2. The Blue Jays improved to 3-3. After York gave up a goal in the final seconds of the first half, Lindsay Nye tied the game at 1-1 midway through the second half. It was her ninth goal of the season. The Jays scored the eventual game-winning goal with less than 10 minutes to play. The loss was the Spartans' second in a row.
Women's soccer team draws with Juniata: The York College women's soccer team drew with Juniata College on Wednesday, 1-1.
The Spartans (2-4-2) broke a scoreless, halftime tie early in the second half. Dover grad Maxine Herman scored in the 49th minute to give the visitors the lead. That advantage lasted until the 66th minute when the Eagles (3-2-3) equalized it. York doubled-up Juniata in shot attempts, 16-8. Brittany Cullison made seven saves in goal for the Spartans.
