York College freshman Jenny Coyle earns CAC honor

York College freshman right-hander Jenny Coyle has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Coyle earned the award for the week ending March 27.
Coyle picked up a pair of complete-game victories to help the Spartans go 4-0 for the week.
She began the week with a shutout of Lycoming in the Spartans' 5-0 victory Thursday afternoon. Coyle tossed six innings, scattering three hits with one walk to earn her second win of the year.
Coyle followed that with a complete game win over Southern Virginia on Saturday. In that game, Coyle allowed two runs on four hits with three strikeouts and a walk in the Spartans' 19-2 win. Coyle also went 1-for-2 at the plate with a pair of runs scored and two walks.
Coyle finished the week with two wins and an ERA of 1.27 in 11 innings. She struck out three and walked two.
For the year, Coyle is 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA in 14 innings. She has struck out nine and walked two. Opponents are hitting .170 against her.
