York picked for 5th in CAC baseball


York College was picked to finish fifth in the 2016 Capital Athletic Conference Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll.


The Spartans received 44 points. Salisbury was first in the 10-team CAC with 74 points and four first-place votes, followed by Mary Washington (72 points, four first-place votes), Frostburg State (71 points, two first-place votes) and Christopher Newport (58 points).

York finished 14-23 overall last season, including 6-12 in the CAC.

The Spartans begin the 2016 season on Friday, Feb. 19, vs. Piedmont in the Early Spring Classic in Demorest, Georgia.

York's first home game is Wednesday, March 9, vs. Rutgers-Camden.
