Red Lion grad Posey named All-South

York Dispatch

York College field hockey sophomore Ali Posey has been named to the 2015 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association First Team All-South Region as announced by the NFHCA on Monday.

Red Lion High School graduate Ali Posey has collected another postseason honor for her field hockey excellence.

The Red Lion High School graduate is now a two-time NFHCA All-South Region selection. She earned Second Team honors last year. She is the 15th overall selection in program history and just the second First Team selection (Jamie Torkar-Swartz, 1998).

Posey recorded a team-high 41 points on 18 goals and five assists. She finished with the fourth-highest goal total and the fifth-highest point total among the 32 All-South Region selections.

Posey went 4-for-5 in penalty strokes while she notched a pair of game-winning goals. The four converted strokes are a new single-season school record. Posey had a pair of three-goal games early in the year. She scored a goal in 12 of her 19 games and had at least a point in 13 contests. Her 18 goals is tied for second on the program's single-season list while her 41 points are tied for third.

Posey has notched 69 points in her 39 career games with 30 goals and nine assists. She has six game-winning goals and is 5-for-6 in penalty strokes for her career. She ranks seventh in career-goals and sits 23 behind York's all-time leader, April McFarland. Her 69 points leave her just outside the program's career top 10.

Posey has also been a two-time All-Capital Athletic Conference selection and the 2014 CAC Rookie of the Year.
