York College women's soccer goalie honored by CAC

York College women's soccer senior goalkeeper Kate Lutte has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending on Nov. 1.

Lutte led the Spartans to a berth in the CAC Tournament semifinals after she posted a shutout in the 2-0 road win at Frostburg State in the CAC Tournament first-round game on Saturday.

Lutte made five stops as she recorded her fourth shutout of the year. The senior goalie earned her seventh win of the year.

Earlier in the week, Lutte made six saves in an overtime loss to second-seeded conference opponent St. Mary's (Maryland) in the regular-season finale for both squads. Lutte allowed two goals to the Seahawks but kept the Spartans in the game with a number of key second-half saves.

For the week, Lutte posted a .846 save percentage and 0.98 goals-against average with 11 total saves.
