YORK COLLEGE: Spartans earn overtime field hockey win vs. Dickinson

Lindsay Nye's overtime goal lifted the York College field hockey team to a 3-2 non-conference triumph over visiting Dickinson on Wednesday.

It was Nye's second goal of the game.

York improved to 6-3, while Dickinson fell to 6-2.

Red Lion High School graduate Ali Posey had York's other score, while also providing an assist. York's Autumn Mallory added two assists, including one on the game-winner.

Ty McCloskey made nine saves to get the win in goal.

OTHER YORK COLLEGE EVENTS

Spartans triumph in men's soccer: Nigel Robinson and Matt Freibaum had the game's only goals to help the York College men's soccer team to a 2-0 non-conference victory at Lebanon Valley on Wednesday.

Greg Bechard assisted on Robinson's goal. Charlie Johnson made two saves to get the shutout win in goal. York improved to 3-6-1, while Lebanon Valley fell to 3-6-0.

Spartans women's volleyball team rallies for win: York overcame a 2-0 deficit to Wesley to earn a 23-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-11 women's volleyball victory on Wednesday.

Kelly Cavey and Brooke Krebs combined for 30 kills to pace the Spartan attack. Sarah Wukitch finished with a match-high 52 assists and Katherine Graziano came up with 16 digs. The win is the fourth in a row for York and improved the team's overall record to 9-12. It was also the first match of the Spartans' Capital Athletic Conference slate.

York women's soccer team blanked: The Elizabethtown College Blue Jays blanked the York College Spartans 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer action at Graham Field in York on Wednesday.

The loss snaps York's two game win streak. The Spartans fell to 3-5, while the Jays improved to 5-4-1.
