YorkDispatch

York College senior goalie Kate Lutte was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending on Sept. 27.

Lutte pitched a pair of shutouts as the Spartans won both games for the week. In the 2-0 win over Juniata, Lutte made two saves, including a huge stop early in the second half on a point-blank shot when the game was still scoreless. She followed that with four stops in the 3-0 win over Marymount in the Spartans' CAC opener.

Lutte is now 3-2 with a 1.20 goals against average and a .806 save percentage. She has earned all three of the Spartans' shutouts for the year.

Spartan golfers in third: The York College golf team finished round one of the Bay Creek Invitational on Monday in third place out of five teams with a team score of 321.

Christopher Newport holds the lead through the first round with a score of 310 and Penn State-Harrisburg sits in second with a score of 319. Senior Ryan Wolbach finished tied for the team lead with a 5-over-par 79 with freshman Tyler Newton. The Spartans return to Bay Creek tomorrow for the second round of the tournament.
