Ali Posey played the hero on Wednesday afternoon for the York College field hockey team.
The Red Lion High School graduate not only kick-started the Spartans' 4-0 scoring run to end the game, but she also scored the game-winning goal in overtime, giving York (5-2) the 6-5 overtime win over McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland.
Her game-winner came just under eight minutes into the overtime period. Before that, she scored her first goal of the game with just more than 18 minutes to play, pulling the Spartans to within 5-3 of the Green Terror (5-2). That sparked the team's 4-0 run, erasing the 5-2 deficit and capturing the win.
Beth Patrick and Holly Martin each had a goal and an assist for York.
