Former York College running standout Tim Hartung has been selected to join the Lebanon Valley College men's and women's cross country staffs as an assistant coach beginning this fall.
"Tim had an absolutely wonderful career at York College," LVC head cross country coach James O'Brien said. "We are always looking for ways to improve our program and believe that his experiences as an elite runner will help to bring in some fresh ideas, especially for our higher mileage athletes. His personality is a good fit with the rest of the coaches and we're all looking forward to getting started."
Hartung is one of the most decorated distance runners in York history. He earned seven NCAA Division III All-America honors over the course of his career — twice for his cross country efforts, twice as a member of the indoor track and field team (five-kilometer and three-kilometer runs) and three times during the outdoor season (twice in the 10-kilometer run and once in the five-kilometer run).
In addition, he was a five-time All-Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Year, a three-time CAC men's cross country champion and a 14-time CAC indoor and outdoor track and field champion.
Also, he twice earned CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America status.
