The recent soaking rains, and a forecast featuring more storms, have forced Penn State to make parking changes for Saturday’s football game against Kent State.

Some grass lots normally used for parking will not be open. Vehicles will be re-directed to other parking lots near Beaver Stadium.

PSU utilizes several intramural fields for football parking. The soggy conditions means vehicular traffic would have the potential to significantly damage the fields with fall intramural sports still in progress for students.

Fans who normally park cars and recreational vehicles in paved lots will be unaffected. Permit holders with a white stripe through their permit have a paved parking space, which will not be impacted by this Saturday’s lot closures.

As of Tuesday, Yellow Lot 12, the Orange Preferred Car, Brown Preferred and Family Friendly lots will be closed on game day.

Also, Penn State will not sell any additional Yellow (game-day) parking for the Kent State game. Fans attending Saturday’s game who do not have a parking permit will not be able to park in the Beaver Stadium parking lots. Several options for fans who do not have a parking permit are listed below.

Penn State officials are monitoring the forecast for the rest of the week, as well as the potential effects of Hurricane Florence, which could lead to additional parking lot closures for Saturday’s game.

Other options: Penn State is asking fans for patience and understanding. Fans are strongly encouraged to carpool and avoid bringing an RV for the Kent State game. The Blue and Orange lots will be closed to RVs.

Fans who don’t have a reserved parking permit for the Kent State game are encouraged to carpool or consider other options to get to Beaver Stadium, including:

CATA Game Day Shuttle (catabus.com).

Parking in the East or Nittany decks on campus and walking or taking CATA Loop.

Uber (drop off and pick up locations near stadium).

Grange Park (car and RV park and ride shuttle provided by Grange. Car parking is $10 per day. The shuttle is a $10 round trip on Saturday. Information at grangefair.com.
