Top recruit Micah Parsons decommits from Penn State
Harrisburg High junior Micah Parsons announced late Sunday night, via Twitter, that he's decommitting from Penn State.
Parsons, a five-star defensive end rated as one of the top recruits in the nation for the Class of 2018, transferred from Central Dauphin High School in the middle of last season before enrolling at Harrisburg and helping lead the Cougars to the PIAA Class 5-A state finals, where they lost to Archbishop Wood.
In his tweet, Parsons said that he felt he committed too soon, but that Penn State is still one of his top choices. He said he wants to focus on the upcoming season.
Along with Penn State, Parsons holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and many other top programs.
With Parsons, the Nittany Lions had the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation for 2018, trailing only Miami.
