He has 2,131 rushing yards in his career, which has him in 15th place at Penn State.

McGovern earns Big Ten honor: True freshman guard Connor McGovern was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week following a strong performance against Iowa on Saturday night.

The Nittany Lions have had at least one Big Ten weekly honoree in each of their last five games, marking the first time in program history that Penn State has accomplished the feat.

McGovern is the first offensive lineman in Penn State history to win a Big Ten weekly award. He is also just the third offensive lineman to win a conference weekly honor, joining Ohio State’s Korey Stringer (1994) and Michigan State’s Sean Poole (2004), who both won Offensive Player of the Week accolades. Stringer and Pooler were both tackles.

McGovern was the leader of an offensive line that helped the offense post 599 total yards against the Hawkeyes. The unit also allowed just one sack in that contest and the Lions didn’t have a single three-and-out possession.

Kickoff time set for Indiana game: The Nittany Lions travel to Indiana on Saturday to take on the Hoosiers. with kickoff slated for noon.

The game will air on ABC locally.
