Central York High School graduate Royce Clemens has been named the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Newcomer of the Year.
A 6-foot, 1-inch redshirt freshman libero at Penn State, Clemens leads the Nittany Lions this season with 260 digs. That is tied for the EIVA lead.
He's helped Penn State to a 19-9 overall record, including a 12-2 EIVA mark, which earned PSU the regular-season crown. The Lions are ranked No. 9 in NCAA Division I in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.
Penn State is set to host the 2016 EIVA Championship this weekend for the 19th time in program history at Rec Hall.
