Penn State picks up two more verbal commitments for 2016 football recruiting class
The Penn State football team picked up a pair of three-star verbal commitments for its 2016 recruiting class over the past few days.
Ohio offensive tackle Alex Gellerstedt made his decision to join the Nittany Lions on Tuesday. The 6-foot, 7-inch 275-pounder from Dublin also reportedly had offers from Maryland, Illinois, Northwestern, Rutgers and Wisconsin.
On Saturday, the Lions received a verbal commitment from 6-5, 228-pound tight end Danny Dalton from Marshfield, Massachusetts. Among the schools who reportedly made him offers were Alabama, Arkansas, Boston College, North Carolina, Rutgers and Syracuse.
Both are rated three-star recruits by both Scout.com and Rivals.com.
Penn State now has eight verbal commitments for its 2016 recruiting class. All eight are rated either three-star or four-star recruits. The 2016 PSU class, as it now stands, is rated in the top 20 by most recruiting services.
