First-place Penn State York men's basketball team captures overtime thriller


The Penn State York men's basketball team won a thriller on Tuesday night over visiting Penn State Lehigh Valley, 89-88 in overtime.

The local Lions led 44-23 at the half, but were outscored 51-30 in the second half to force the OT.

Khalil White led PSY with 23 points, while Susquehannock High School graduate Richard Grant added 20 points and nine rebounds. Larry Rascoe chipped in 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for PSY, while Joey O'Dwyer added 12 points. Justin Luton had nine points, 10 rebounds, five blocks and three assists.

PSY improved to 12-5 overall and 8-2 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. The local Lions lead the PSUAC standings by a half game. Lehigh Valley fell to 5-9 and 4-5.

PSY women fall: The PSY women led Penn State Lehigh Valley 37-25 at halftime, but couldn't hold on, suffering a 76-60 loss.

Emily Colon led the home Lions with 19 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, PSY shot 8 for 36 from 3-point range.
