In a rare match-up against an NCAA Division III opponent, the Penn State York men's basketball team showed it can hang with, and beat, D-III competition.
The local Lions dominated the University of Valley Forge, 81-68, to secure the big home victory on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
PSY started slow, trailing Valley Forge (0-6) by five at halftime. However, the second half belonged to the local Lions (8-2), who outscored the visitors by 18 in the final 20 minutes to win decisively.
Susquehannock High School graduate Richard Grant carried the offensive load for PSY, dropping in a game-high 25 points. The only other local Lion in double figures was Joey O'Dwyer, who poured in 19 points. Justin Luton chipped in six points and 12 rebounds.
