Penn State York routed by Valley Forge in men's hoops
The Penn State York men's basketball team couldn't follow up its come-from-behind win on Tuesday night with another one on Wednesday night.
The local Lions (6-2) were easily beaten by the University of Valley Forge on the road, 95-67.
PSY fell behind by 16 points by halftime and made no progress in a comeback attempt during the second half, getting outscored by 12 in the final 20 minutes.
Red Lion grad Trent Thomas led the local Lions in scoring, putting up 11 points. He was one of two PSY players to reach double figures, with Calvin Hynson recording 10 points and seven rebounds. As a team, the local Lions shot 45 percent from the field, but struggled from long range, connecting on only 27.3 percent of their attempts. They also shot a poor percentage from the free throw line, making just 45.5 percent of their attempts.
Valley Forge shot over 50 percent from the floor and 40 percent from deep.
