The York College field hockey, women's volleyball and women's soccer teams each picked up victories on Wednesday night.
The Spartans' field hockey team won at Juniata, 3-1, to improve to 6-4. Juniata fell to 4-5. Hannah Huffman had two goals and Dana Meehling had one. Amanda Boclair had two assists. Sam Keating made eight saves to get the win in goal.
The York women's volleyball team won 3-0 at St. Mary's College in Maryland to improve to 12-9 overall and 1-1 in the Capital Athletic Conference. Bermudian Springs grad Madyson Whitcomb (eight kills), Dover grad Abby Diehl (25 assists, 10 digs) and Healani Markham (10 digs) paced York.
The Spartans' women's soccer team beat visiting St. Mary's, 2-0, to improve to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in the CAC. Natalie McCarthy scored the first goal off an assist by Megan Stoltzfus. Jenna Holthaus had York's second goal. Jillian Kozak made four saves to get the shutout in goal. St. Mary's fell to 2-8 and 0-2.
The York men's soccer team wasn't as fortunate, falling at St. Mary's 2-1. Isiah Dorsey had York's goal. The Spartans fell to 4-4-2 overall and 0-2 in the CAC. St. Mary's is 7-2-1 and 1-1.
PENN STATE YORK EVENTS
Penn State York 3, Penn State Wilkes-Barre 0: At York, the local Lions grabbed a 25-8, 25-4, 25-8 triumph to improve to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. Red Lion grad Madison Winkowski (four kills) and Northeastern grad Abbie Hornberger (seven assists, three digs) led PSY.
Penn State Brandywine 10, Penn State York 0: Bryce Finch made five saves in a losing cause for PSY, which fell to 1-6-1 overall and 1-4-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
