York College freshman golfer Riley Rohlfs has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 8.
Rohlfs, from Westford, Massachusetts, made his collegiate debut a memorable one. He won the individual title at the inaugural Spartan Invitational at Royal Manchester Golf Links in near Mount Wolf.
Rohlfs had rounds of 74 and 69 on the par-72 layout, good for a 1-under-par 143 total. He won the tournament by three strokes over Eastern's Nicky Marrollo.
York finished second as a team with a 608 total, which was two shots behind Stevenson.
Bridegum honored again: For the second straight week, York College junior goalkeeper Billy Bridegum was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Bridegum added a pair of shutouts for the week as York had a pair of scoreless ties. Against Stevenson, Bridegum had six saves, while he had four saves vs. Elizabethtown.
For the season, Bridegum's goals-against average sits at 0.22. He has conceded just one goal for the year.
