Red Lion High School graduate Lauren Enfield, a sophomore at Arcadia University, was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday.
Enfield, a 5-foot, 10-inch outside hitter, followed up her 2017 Commonwealth Rookie of the Year campaign by capturing the league's first weekly award and leading the Knights to a 3-1 weekend to begin the season.
Arcadia defeated Bethany (3-2), Bard (3-0) and Haverford (3-1) as part of the two-day Haverford Invitational. Enfield averaged 3.35 kills per set, 2.53 digs per set and hit .310 in the four matches on her way to being named to the all-tournament team.
She opened the season with a 22-kill, 14-dig performance, while hitting .452, in the 3-2 win over Bethany on Saturday. Sunday, Enfield posted double-doubles of 17 kills and 11 digs vs. Wheaton (Mass.), and 14 kills and 13 digs vs. Haverford.
This is the first weekly award from the MAC Commonwealth for an Arcadia women's volleyball player since the third week of the 2014 season.
Arcadia is an NCAA Division III school located in Glenside, Pennsylvania, north of Philadelphia.
