Two York County players earn Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors

- Northeastern grad Stephen Braswell is an EIVA Second Team pick for Saint Francis.
Two York County players have earned all-conference honors from the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association.
Central York High School graduate Hayden Wagner was named to the EIVA First Team, while Northeastern High School graduate Stephen Braswell was a second-team pick.
Wagner is a 6-foot, 6-inch sophomore opposite hitter for George Mason University.
Wagner led the EIVA in kills per set and points per set up until the last week of the regular season, and became just the 11th Patriot to register 300 kills in the rally-scoring era.
He notched three matches of 20 or more kills, most notably his career-high 25-kill night at New Jersey Institute of Technology (March 30) to help guide the Patriots to an EIVA Tournament-clinching win.
Wagner was named EIVA Offensive Player of the Week twice, once after his dominant 24-7-37 (.459) performance vs. Mount Olive (Jan. 19) and a little over a month later when he averaged 4.43 kills per set in wins against No. 7 Penn State and Saint Francis (Pa.) on Feb. 23-24. He finished the season compiling double-digit kills in seven of his final eight matches in the regular season.
The Patriots won the regular-season EIVA title for the first time in the current conference alignment and will host the EIVA Tournament. The first match for the Patriots is 7:30 p.m. Thursday vs. Princeton.
Braswell is a 6-2 outside hitter for the Saint Francis University Red Flash.
He leads the Flash in kills (306), service aces (46) and points per set (3.58).
