Four York County standouts helped the Shippensburg University baseball team sweep a non-conference doubleheader against Jefferson on Saturday, winning 20-0 and 16-2 at Fairchild Field.

Shippensburg (6-7) pounded out 38 hits on the day.

Senior Grant Hoover, a Dover High School graduate, tallied six hits in seven at-bats, with two doubles and three RBIs. Junior Cash Gladfelter, a West York grad, went 5 for 8 with two triples, a double and five RBIs.

Seniors Dalton Hoiles and Nick Spangler (both from Spring Grove) each tallied four hits in the doubleheader, with Hoiles hitting two no-doubt home runs in Game 2 and Spangler going 3 for 5 in Game 1.

For the season, Hoiles is hitting .362 with four homers and 12 RBIs, Spangler is hitting .333 with a homer and 10 RBIs, Hoover is hitting .367 with six RBIs and Gladfelter is hitting .269 with nine RBIs.
