Red Lion High School grad Dillon Hildebrand earns pair of college men's volleyball honors
Red Lion High School graduate Dillon Hildebrand, a 6-foot sophomore outside hitter at Penn State Behrend, has earned a pair of weekly men's college volleyball honors.
Hildebrand has been named the men's volleyball athlete of the week by both the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and Eastern College Athletic Conference.
Hildebrand averaged 4.62 kills per set in three matches this weekend for the Lions (2-4). He set a career high with 19 kills in a 3-1 win over Hiram on Friday night and then reset his career best with 23 kills in a five-set loss against St. John Fisher. He also added 24 digs, three aces and three assists for the week.
For the year, Hildebrand leads Behrend in kills (83) and kills per set (3.77).
Last year as a freshman, Hildebrand was an All-AMCC second-team pick and ranked second on the team in kills (237) and service aces (18), while ranking fourth in digs (119).
