Kennard-Dale High School graduate Chance Marsteller earned a pair of wins over the weekend for the Lock Haven University wrestling team to improve to 30-1 on the season.

Marsteller is ranked No. 8 in the nation at 165 pounds for the Bald Eagles by Intermat.

In a 40-6 win over George Mason on Saturday, Marsteller earned a first-period pin.

In a 31-7 victory over Brown on Sunday, Marsteller captured an 8-0 major decision.

Lock Haven improved to 9-1 on the season and is ranked No. 18 by Intermat.

Penn State rolls past Maryland to remain unbeaten: The top-ranked Penn State wrestling team rolled over Maryland for a 47-3 Big Ten road win on Sunday to remain unbeaten on the season.

The Nittany Lions improved 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the Big Ten. Maryland fell to 5-8 and 0-7.

In the match’s marquee match-up, Penn State’s Nick Nevills decisioned Maryland’s Youssif Hemida at 285 pounds. Nevills came in ranked No. 8, while Hemida came in ranked No. 6.

PSU got pins from Corey Keener at 133, No. 1 Zain Retherford at 149, No. 1 Jason Nolf at 157, No. 1 Vincenzo Joseph at 165, No. 2 Mark Hall at 174 and No. 1 Bo Nickal at 184. No. 7 Nick Lee at 141 and Anthony Cassar at 197 added major decisions for the Lions.
