No. 25 York College men's basketball team storms back to nip Dickinson, stay unbeaten

Monday, the York College men's basketball team learned it earned an NCAA Division III national ranking for the first time since 2006.

Tuesday, the Spartans went out and proved they deserved the accolade with a come-from-behind 66-63 non-conference victory at Dickinson College in Carlisle.

The non-league win improved York's record to 9-0. They are one of 14 teams in all of Division III who are still unbeaten. The Spartans also sit alone at 4-0 at the top of the Capital Athletic Conference.

Dickinson, which received votes in the latest poll, getting six points in this week's ranking, fell to 5-4.

York came into the game at No. 25 in the latest poll. That's the first poll appearance by the Spartans since the 2006 team finished No. 18 after a 25-4 season.

Dickinson, however, gave York everything it could handle, building a double-digit second-half lead before the Spartans rallied down the stretch.

Central York High School graduate Jared Wagner led York with 18 points and seven rebounds. Blayde Reich added 14 points and 16 rebounds for York and Dalton Myers added 11.
