York Suburban High School graduate Gavin Barclay had little trouble acclimating himself to NCAA Division I college football this fall.

As a freshman this season at Lafayette College, a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) program, the 6-foot, 5-inch, 295-pound Barclay made an immediate impact with the Leopards.

Despite being just months removed from high school, Barclay started all 11 games on the offensive line this season for Lafayette. He began the season as a left guard, before getting moved to right tackle for the final seven games of the regular season.

The Leopards went 3-8 this season under first-year head coach John Garrett, the brother of Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett.

In high school, Barclay was a standout on the offensive and defensive lines for the Trojans. He was a York-Adams League Division II first-team all-star at offensive tackle as a junior and senior in 2015 and 2016, as well as a first-team all-star at defensive tackle in 2016. During both of those seasons, York Suburban went 8-3 overall, was Division II champion and made the District 3 playoffs.

As a senior, Barclay was also an all-state honorable mention selection by EasternPaFootball.com.
