Eastern York High School graduate Lauren Reichard excelled on the volleyball court this season on the NCAA Division I level.
Reichard, a 6-foot junior middle hitter for Georgia Southern, was recently named first-team All-Sun Belt.
Reichard hit .342 to lead the league and ranked second in the conference in blocks. She averaged 2.53 kills and 1.18 blocks per set for the year. She tallied double-figure kills in 14 matches and recorded five or more blocks in 12 contests.
Reichard, a three-year starter for the Eagles, notched a career-high 18 kills vs. IUPUI on Aug. 25 and recorded a season-high seven blocks in five matches.
She is one of four starters set to return for the Eagles and enters the 2018 season ranked fifth on the Georgia Southern career blocks list with 353. Georgia Southern finished 8-21 overall this season and 3-13 in the Sun Belt.
Reichard was also named to 2016-17 Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll.
At Eastern, Reichard was a two-time all-state performer and a three-time All-York-Adams League and All-District 3 selection in volleyball. She was also an all-state, all-league and all-district pick in softball.
