West York High School graduate Brody Kern capped an impressive college football career with the University of Delaware by earning All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team honors last week.

Kern, a 2013 graduate of West York, was one of four Blue Hens to be named to the All-CAA First Team after Delaware completed a 7-4 season, including a 5-3 mark in conference play.

Kern, who is the team's center, improved his standing on the All-CAA Team in each of the past three years. He earned third-team honors in 2015 as a sophomore and second-team recognition in 2016 as a junior.

The 6-foot, 2-inch, 285-pound Kern was a co-captain for the Blue Hens this season and started the final 39 games of his career for Delaware. He anchored an offensive line that ranked second in the CAA in fewest sacks allowed (20) and rushing offense (192.5 yards per game).

At West York, Kern was a two-time captain for West York and was named to the 2013 Big 33 Pennsylvania Team and earned all-state honors for the 2012 season. He helped lead the Bulldogs to four consecutive York-Adams League Division II titles and was a four-time Y-A League All-Star.

Also joining Kern on the All-CAA First Team was senior defensive tackle Bilal Nichols, junior linebacker Troy Reeder and junior safety Nasir Adderly. Redshirt freshman linebacker Colby Reeder was selected as the CAA Defensive Player of the Year.

Troy Reeder began his career at Penn State, starting 11 games as a redshirt freshman in 2015. He later opted to transfer to Delaware to play with his brother, Colby.

A total of 11 Blue Hens were named to one of the three All-CAA teams.
