Red Lion High School graduate Devan Horka is the Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Horka enjoyed a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, when she led Albright College with a career-high 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor. She fell a rebound short of recording a double-double in the Lions' 65-59 overtime win on the road against Ursinus.
Horka made her presence felt the most in overtime when she scored 8 of the 11 Lions points behind a perfect 3-of-3 effort from the field, while hitting a pair of free throws. Horka finished 9 of 10 from the free throw stripe for the game, while adding two assists, one block and one steal.
The 6-foot junior leads the conference with a 70.4 percent field goal percentage on 19-of-27 from the field. Horka also leads the team and ranks eighth in the MAC Commonwealth in scoring at 15.7 points per game.
This is the second time in her collegiate career that Horka has earned player-of-the-week honors after winning the award back in December 2014 during her freshman season.
