The York College men’s soccer team earned a 3-1 upset victory over visiting St. Mary’s (Md.) on Wednesday night.

The Spartans improved to 7-8-2 overall and 5-3-1 in the Capital Athletic Conference. St. Mary’s (12-4-1) fell into a tie for second in the CAC at 7-2.

The win sewed up the No. 4 seed for York in the upcoming CAC playoffs. The Spartans will play host to a first-round game vs. No. 5 seed Salisbury on Saturday.

Zion Friday, Danny Morgan and Barak Amige scored York’s goals. Nathan Bilbie and Aiden Wisley had assists. Billy Bridegum had four saves to get the win in goal.

York College women’s soccer team blanked: The York College women's soccer team conceded two goals in under four minutes, and were unable to rebound at St. Mary's College on Wednesday in Capital Athletic Conference action, falling 2-0.

The loss eliminated the Spartans from CAC playoff contention, the first postseason without York since the program's inception in 1996. York dropped to 4-10-2 overall and 3-5-1 in the CAC. St. Mary’s is 5-8-4 and 4-3-2.

Penn State York men’s soccer team loses: The Penn State York men’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to visiting Penn State New Kensington on Wednesday in a Penn State University Athletic Conference quarterfinal contest.

Fabian Vilca scored PSY’s goal. PSY is 5-7-1 overall and 5-4-1 in the PSUAC. PSNK is 7-4-1 and 6-3-1.
