Led by Central York grad Greta Plappert, the York College field hockey team routed Stevenson University at home on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 8-1.

Plappert scored four times to lead the Spartans (8-2) to the victory.

The Mustangs (5-5) scored the game's opening goal early in the first half, only to see the Spartans rattle off eight unanswered to grab control of the game.

Red Lion grad Ali Posey capped the game's scoring with a goal of her own. She also had an assist. Autumn Mallory also had a goal and an assist.

York men's soccer team triumphs: The York College men's soccer team used two goals by freshman Danny Morgan to dismiss Penn State Harrisburg 3-0 on the road Wednesday, Oct. 4, to win its second consecutive game in Capital Athletic Conference play.

Senior Joel Teston added his first goal of the season for the Spartans, who have now scored nine times in their last two games.

York improved to 4-6-1 overall and 2-1 in the CAC. Penn State Harrisburg fell to 8-5 and 1-2.

Tony Mosqueira, Pat Harkanson and Daniel Juresic had York assists.

Penn State York falls in men’s soccer: The Penn State York men’s soccer team fell to Delaware Valley College on Wednesday, 2-0.

Maksim Zingman had four saves in a losing cause for PSY, which fell to 2-5-1 overall.
