COLLEGE: York field hockey downs Johns Hopkins behind Autumn Mallory's hat trick

The York College field hockey team continued its push to crack the national rankings on Wednesday, Sept. 27, with a 3-1 road win over Johns Hopkins.

Autumn Mallory scored all three goals for the York College field hockey team in its 3-1 win over Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

The Spartans improved to 6-2 on the year, while the Blue Jays fell to 6-3.

York did all of its damage in the first half of the game, scoring three times to build a 3-0 cushion. Autumn Mallory couldn't be stopped. She netted three first-half goals to complete her hat-trick, accounting for all of the Spartans' offense.

York women's volleyball team earns sweep: The York College women's volleyball team improved to 12-5 with a 25-17, 25-18, 25-18 victory over Dickinson. Brooke Krebs had a match-high 10 kills for York, while Alexis Harbold had 18 digs and Gabby Emeigh passed for 20 assists. The win for the Spartans was their third in a row and sixth out of the last seven matches.

York men's soccer team falls to LVC: The York College men's soccer team had a rough time with Lebanon Valley, dropping a 6-1 result. The Spartans dropped to 2-6-1. York's only goal was scored by Chris Hobbs in the 10th minute to tie the game at 1-1.

Spartan women fall in soccer: The York women's soccer team's comeback attempt came up a goal short in its 2-1 loss to Elizabethtown. After falling behind, 2-0, at halftime, the Spartans (1-6-1) scored in the 81st minute to pull to within a goal. However, the Blue Jays (5-2-1) held on for the win. Caitlin Rankin provided the only offense for the Spartans.

PSY women's volleyball team swept: The Penn State York women's volleyball team was swept by Penn State Mont Alto, 25-4, 25-9, 25-3. The loss for the Local Lions dropped them to 0-3 on the year, while Mont Alto improved to 4-2.
